Creating Job Security Resource Guide 2010 edition has arrived!

"For so many, 2009 was a year we're only far too happy to say goodbye to as we welcome 2010. For those still unemployed -- 75% of those who lost jobs in 2009 were men -- the promise of a better job market ahead cannot come soon enough. As the job market recovers in 2010, and it will, the secret to finding the job you want, need, and are qualified for will be finding the resources that connect you to hiring managers in your field. While large job portals have their place, hiring managers can afford to cherry-pick the best and brightest job candidates right now. And to find job seekers with industry experience, they're turning to industry specific job portals rather than to the big boards. Creating Job Security Resource Guide, 2010 edition, includes nearly 130 critical job resources you need to find the job you want this week or this month. To get you started, here a a few of my favorites. More are included in Chapter 6: Advanced Manufacturing - CareerMe.com Biotech/Pharmaceuticals - Biospace.com Educational tutoring - Tutor.com Freelance jobs and temp work - FlexJobs.com (this is an awesome site!) Hospitality - hCareers.com Human Resources - Ajilon.com Marketing / PR - CareerJet.com If you know someone who is looking for a job or a career, there is no better guide than the Creating Job Security Resource Guide, 2010 edition. At just $8.95, it will cost you less than a bistro sandwich for lunch. Thanks to the Mike Siegel Show in Seattle, Wash. for inviting me to guest on the Dec. 23, 2009 show dedicated to the economy and jobs market. To listen to this broadcast, download or save the MP3 at http://www.sendspace.com/file/er8lsh"

This is a book from a person who I like to think of as a friend and who has done two online seminars for Kaplan University that I have been able to attend named Debra. It is a great resource, I know I read and was able to use many of the tips in the old version so the $8.95 will be well worth it to see what updated information has been added. A great tool for anyone wanting to ensure Job Security in this unsure job market.

New Hard Drives Ordered

Finally, I found a place to order my 2 new 500GB Hard Drives for my laptop. I had just a single 320GB HD so when I get the two 500GB drives in and working I wont know how to act. I know It will run my Windows Vista and Linux Mint 8 with no studders or issues and since I put most images and such on my external HD I think 1000GB will do me just fine until they get some TB HD's that  work in a notebook. May even use the 320 from laptop and replace the 250 in netbook but thats a project I will take on later. I am stoked, and it will all be here in time to be up and running for school!! Sorry for the quick little post I am just stoked about that and felt I should share my joy lol. Happy early New Years to ALL!!!

Posterous Finnaly got customizable themes

I wanted to make a quick post because when logging into my Posterous Blog I noticed they had finnaly did the one thing that they had been lacking in my opinion, Customizable Themes!!! You can use your own HTML and CSS, Header Images and pretty much make the theme whatever you want, if you know HTML and CSS the sky is the limit now. This is great because not only does it allow me to just write up one blog post and it automatically posts it to all of my other blogs, twitter and even facebook but now I can make it look how I want to. Great job guys, now if you make a Windows Mobile App like you did for the iPhone I will have nothing left to gripe about lol. Well is time for bed now after a hard night of studying and coding was a super nice surprise guys.

Newest Job Security Seminar and other News

My first term as a student at Kaplan University, I attended a seminar by Debra Yergen. She has a great blog at http://creatingjobsecurity.blogspot.com that I follow religiously with both my blogspot blog, and also just by the RSS feed. She is a great speaker and very motivational, she has a lot of interesting content and you can check out her site.

On a URL shortner note, I noticed in a post on the bit.ly blog that the service tr.im was closing down. This is a sad thing to most of us because even though there are some shorter ones we can use, tr.im was a GREAT name for a URL shortner, and I know that many like myslef loved their interface and tracking system. I think it is sad that a service so well set up and clearly had so much time and effort was considered not to be worth buying by anyone. I am hoping they change their minds, but I am not holding my breath.

In other news, I have not had much time to work on my blog and what little time I have had I have put into the businesses blog that I do work for. I added a lot to it so if you have not been or it has been awhile check it out and make a comment to see the new rettagr. If you have not yet heard of this service it is GREAT, you can check out the companys profile page to get an idea. It shows any of the communities you belog to such as Twitter, FaceBook, YouTube and so many others I just cannot name them all!

O.K. so as a quick wrap up, Thank you to Debra for the great seminar, I always get great information from your seminars and I urge and Kaplan University Students who can attend to attend one, their is another one Monday August 24th at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. Now is time for me to finish up a couple of things for school and head on to bed so that I can wake up and do this all over again tomorrow!!
